About this Hike...
Guided by Brandi Savory and assisted by Linda Rocco This week of nature exploration will immerse us in beautiful fall foliage as we witness wildlife and vegetation prepare for the winter. We will have ample time to reflect on our own preparations and feelings about change while embracing the beauty inherent in each moment. We'll soak in the Homestead Crater to build our defenses against the upcoming dark season. Explore your sense of balance as the days and nights become equal and the sun and earth seek to balance their scales. This time of year is one of magic, mystery, and change. Fall is the most spiritual season for self-reflection and change. Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher, is quoted as saying "change is the only constant in life." When we spend time in nature, we experience this feeling of change. We layer our clothes as a means of protection and comfort. Our nutritional desires change as well as we seek comfort foods and hot drinks as a way to comfort our souls while simultaneously letting go of summer temperatures and activities in order to prepare for darker times. We learn how to embrace the darker times of fall as time of self-reflection and preservation- a time to go deeper into ourselves and let go of all the things that no longer serve us. Fall brings beautiful foliage, cooler temperatures, and appreciation for the warmth of our homes and the comfort of family, friends, and pets. We nest, we prepare, and we brace for the coming winter as well as feast, celebrate, and prepare for our holiday traditions. This is an all-inclusive experience. We provide ground transportation, accommodations, healthy meals/hiking snacks, hiking gear & supplies, fees for all state parks, national parks, and The Homestead Crater. You provide your airfare to and from the Salt Lake International Airport and we will take care of the rest.
